Tamil Nadu MLA G Saravanan alleges Rs 30‑100 crore bribe offer from DMK
G Saravanan, the TVK MLA from the Srivaikuntam constituency in Tamil Nadu, claimed that individuals approached him with offers ranging from Rs 30 crore to Rs 100 crore to resign and join the ruling DMK. He released a truncated audio clip of a conversation in which an unidentified voice asks if he needs any favour, and cited a theatre owner from Tirunelveli and four supporters of a former DMK minister as sources of the offers.
Saravanan said he also received death threats after refusing the money, describing an incident where a lorry deliberately tried to ram his car. The DMK’s legal wing rejected the accusation, calling it a diversionary tactic linked to sexual‑assault allegations against the MLA and stating the party has no need to poach legislators. Both articles report the same allegations and the party’s denial.
