DMK Leaders Senthilbalaji and Markandayan Granted Bail by Tamil Nadu Courts

The Chennai Principal Sessions Court granted conditional anticipatory bail to former DMK minister V. Senthilbalaji in a case alleging a conspiracy to destabilise the TVK government. He must report twice daily to the Triplicane police station until further order.

Separately, Madras High Court ordered the police to file a counter‑affidavit in the bail application of DMK MLA G. V. Markandayan, who was arrested on accusations of making threatening remarks about Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay. The court has scheduled further proceedings and directed that the police respond by July 27.

Both cases involve senior members of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam party facing legal scrutiny in Tamil Nadu.
