Tamil Nadu political shifts: MK Stalin attacks scheme rename, film director joins TVK

Former chief minister and DMK leader M. K. Stalin criticised the Tamil Nadu government's decision to rename the flagship "Nan Mudhalvan" skill‑development programme as "Thiraan Tamil Nadu," saying the change would not erase the achievements of thousands of youth who have benefited from the scheme.

Film director R. V. Udai Kumar, a long‑time member of the former ADMK and head of its cultural wing, along with several ex‑ADMK leaders, formally joined the Tamil Nadu Thamizhaga Munnetra Kazhagam (TVK) party, signalling a notable realignment among regional political figures.
