Tamil Nadu politics: Assembly debates and TVK party appointments

In the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, heated debates occurred regarding the 2026-2027 budget and agricultural reports. During the session, Minister Adhav Arjunan leveled allegations against members of the DMK, accusing them of operating liquor distilleries. He further questioned Udhayanidhi Stalin regarding an alleged ₹900 crore receipt from a lottery company, prompting a sharp rebuttal from Stalin.

Simultaneously, the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) party, led by Vijay, has announced a series of new organizational appointments to strengthen its structure. The party has appointed several district organization secretaries and deputy general secretaries, including former minister Dr. C. Vijay Bhaskar for the Pudukkottai district and M. R. Vijay Bhaskar for Karur. These appointments follow the integration of several individuals who resigned from previous positions to join TVK.
