Tamil Nadu rainfall provides relief from heat across 12 districts

Widespread rainfall across various parts of Tamil Nadu has provided relief from intense heat. The Regional Meteorological Centre has forecasted moderate rain in 12 districts for Sunday.

Heavy rainfall was recorded in areas near Surkudi, including Kalappur, Chaturvedimangalam, Piranmalai, and Singampunari. Other regions experiencing rain include Sivaganga, Coimbatore, Perambalur, and Kallakurichi. In Tiruchirappalli, heavy rain and strong winds continued for a second day, while parts of Tiruvarur also saw significant downpours.

The weather shift has had a mixed impact on the agricultural sector. While farmers with standing paddy crops welcomed the rain as beneficial, those who had already completed their harvests expressed concern regarding the impact on stored grain at procurement centers.
