Tamir missile produced in the US delivered to Israel

The Israel Ministry of Defense has announced the delivery of the first Tamir air defense missile completely produced and assembled in the United States. The missile was delivered to the Israel Missile Defense Organization (IMDO) following a ceremony at the Raytheon-Rafael Area Protection Systems (R2S) facility in East Camden, Arkansas.

The R2S plant is a joint venture between Raytheon and Rafael and serves as the first facility outside of Israel dedicated solely to the assembly of Tamir missiles. This initiative aims to strengthen the strategic partnership between the US and Israel, enhance supply chain resilience, and increase domestic production capacity within the United States.

The Tamir missile is a critical component of Israel’s layered defense architecture, including the Iron Dome system. The production move is intended to reduce reliance on overseas manufacturing while stimulating local innovation and job creation in Arkansas.
