Tamsui pharmacist accused of drugging and assaulting female student employees

A pharmacist in Tamsui, New Taipei City, is under investigation after being accused of drugging female university students with controlled substances, such as benzodiazepines, to facilitate sexual misconduct. The suspect, identified by his surname Chen, is currently being held in custody without bail.

Investigations revealed that Chen had hired more than 10 female university students as assistants within just two years of opening his pharmacy. Several former employees have come forward with allegations of sexual assault, attempted sexual assault, and sexual harassment. Some victims reported experiencing dizziness and loss of consciousness after consuming water that had been spiked with medication.

The New Taipei City Pharmacists Association has noted the unusually high turnover rate of student employees. The association is coordinating with the New Taipei City Health Bureau to monitor the judicial and administrative investigations. If the allegations are proven true, Chen could face severe disciplinary actions, including the potential revocation of his pharmacist license.
