Tamworth Regional Skywalk set for grand opening

The Tamworth Regional Skywalk is scheduled for its grand opening this weekend, featuring a community celebration on Saturday, August 29. The new tourist attraction includes 1.5 kilometres of elevated walkway, three viewing platforms, and two rest areas, designed to provide safer access to the lookout for visitors and locals.

The opening festivities will begin at 10am with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, live entertainment, food, and activities for children. Local businesses, such as the Brewed Connections cafe, are preparing for the expected influx of visitors.

To manage increased traffic in East Tamworth, several road closures and changes will be implemented. Brisbane Street and Bourke Street will experience one-way restrictions, and Endeavour Drive will be closed during the official formalities between 10am and 10:45am.
