Tan Long Commune Police facilitate return of 370 million VND mistaken transfer

Police in Tan Long Commune, Tay Ninh Province, have successfully facilitated the return of over 370 million VND that was mistakenly transferred into a local citizen's bank account.

In late July 2026, resident Bui Thanh Duy discovered the large sum in his account despite having no prior transaction or agreement related to the funds. Recognizing the significant amount and the likelihood of a mistake, the Tan Long Commune Police intervened to verify the origin of the money and advised the recipient on the legal responsibilities regarding assets not belonging to them.

Following the police guidance, the recipient cooperated with the authorities and the bank to complete the necessary procedures. The full amount of over 370 million VND was returned to the original sender in the presence of police officers, with the entire process documented to ensure transparency and compliance with regulations.
