Tanah Abang Station passenger rescued after jumping onto tracks

A man was evacuated from the tracks at Tanah Abang Station in Jakarta on Monday, September 7, 2026, after allegedly jumping onto the rails as a Commuter Line train was entering Platform 2.

KAI Commuter reported that the train driver performed an emergency brake as the train approached the platform, successfully stopping the vehicle just before contact. Station security and Marine personnel responded immediately to secure the individual, who was wearing a white shirt.

Tanah Abang Police Sector Chief AKBP Dhimas Prasetyo stated that the individual appeared to be in an unstable mental state and was uncommunicative during initial questioning. Following coordination with local authorities, the man was handed over to the Madani Mental Health Care Rehabilitation Center Foundation for professional care and treatment.
