Commuter Line incidents in Tanah Abang

Overview

Incidents involving the KRL Commuter Line in the Tanah Abang area of Jakarta have been reported in late August and early September 2026.

On August 24, a taxi was struck by a KRL Commuter Line train at a railway crossing on Jalan KH Mas Mansyur. The collision resulted in injuries to two female passengers, who were evacuated to RSAL Mintohardjo hospital, though no fatalities occurred. The accident caused delays on the Angke-Manggarai route.

On September 7, a separate incident occurred at Tanah Abang Station when a man jumped onto the tracks as a train was entering Platform 2. The driver utilized emergency braking to avoid contact. Local police reported the individual appeared to be in an “unstable mental state” and subsequently transferred him to a mental health rehabilitation center for treatment.
