Tangerang Selatan officials demand action after Cimanggis Market explosion

Tangerang Selatan City Council Deputy Chair Maria Teresa Suardja is calling for concrete action following an explosion at a shop in the Cimanggis Market area of Ciputat on October 14, 2026.

During a visit to victims in Cipayung on October 17, Suardja noted that many traders have suffered significant material losses and are unable to resume business due to severe damage. There are also concerns regarding the structural integrity of nearby buildings, some of which appear tilted and potentially hazardous. Suardja stated she intends to contact management to seek clarity on compensation and the repair of dangerous structures.
