Tanjung Lompat search expands for three missing teenagers
Search and rescue operations have been intensified at Tanjung Lompat Beach in Kota Tinggi to locate three teenagers reported missing after drowning. Authorities have expanded the search radius to two nautical miles northwest of the coast.
To assist in the search amid challenging weather and waves reaching 1.5 meters, the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (APMM) and fire department are deploying long-range drones capable of covering up to 20 square kilometers. A total of 41 personnel from various agencies, including the Royal Malaysia Police and Civil Defence Force, are involved in the coordinated effort.
One victim, 16-year-old Alif Taqiuddin Kamal Hasrul, was recovered yesterday. The remaining three missing individuals have been identified as Mohamad Haiman Fitri Supian, Muhammad Adib Hafiy Kamal, and Muhammad Thaqif Rayyan Rumainoor. Officials noted that the victims may have drifted further out to sea due to strong currents.
