Tanzania aims to complete rural electrification by 2030

The Tanzania Rural Energy Agency (REA) has announced a government commitment to complete electricity distribution projects in all sub-villages by 2030. The initiative aims to stimulate socio-economic activities and improve the lives of citizens in rural areas.

Speaking during a staff working session in Dodoma, REA Director General Hassan Saidy emphasized the importance of professionalism, accountability, and integrity among staff. He noted that the agency carries the hopes of the public and urged project managers to closely monitor implementation to resolve any delays promptly. The expansion of energy access is intended to serve as a catalyst for local production and broader economic development.
