Tanzania officials enhance healthcare through new ambulance and hospital inspections

Tanzanian health officials are conducting initiatives to improve medical service delivery and emergency response. In the Pwani region, Health Minister Mohamed Mchengerwa handed over an ambulance to the Kibaha District Council. The vehicle is intended to support the Magindu Health Center and surrounding areas, specifically aiding the transport of emergency cases such as maternal emergencies, neonatal care, accident victims, and patients with cardiac or respiratory issues.

Minister Mchengerwa instructed the Kibaha District Council to ensure the ambulance is used strictly for medical purposes and to establish a dedicated budget for maintenance, fuel, and insurance. He emphasized the importance of accountability regarding mileage and maintenance records.

In Dar es Salaam, Prime Minister Dr. Mwigulu Nchemba conducted a surprise inspection of the Mwananyamala Regional Referral Hospital. During the visit, the Prime Minister toured various departments, including the maternity and surgical wards, to interact with patients and their families. The inspection aimed to monitor the quality of social service delivery and ensure that citizens receive timely medical care in appropriate environments.
