Tanzania secures 4,500 new job opportunities in Qatar

Tanzanian Prime Minister Dr. Mwigulu Nchemba has announced that Tanzania is in the final stages of securing over 4,500 job opportunities in Qatar across various sectors. This follows a three-day official visit to Qatar at the invitation of Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.

Previously, 720 Tanzanians were employed by the Qatar National Transport Company (MOWASALAT) as part of an initial 2,000 positions. In a second phase, Power Holding International has offered more than 4,000 jobs to skilled Tanzanians.

During the visit, two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed: one regarding cooperation in firefighting, rescue, and emergency services between the respective Ministries of Home Affairs, and another concerning political and diplomatic cooperation. Discussions are also ongoing to finalize an agreement to prevent double taxation.
