Taoyuan City launches new school construction projects

The Taoyuan City Government has launched two major school construction projects to address growing population demands and educational needs in the region.

In Zhongli, construction has begun for a new Futaai Elementary School campus. The project is being coordinated with the development of the MRT Green Line extension, specifically the G28 station. The new 2.1-hectare campus will feature 36 classrooms, special education facilities, and a non-profit kindergarten. To minimize disruption, the city will use a ‘build-first, demolish-later’ approach, allowing students to relocate once the new facilities are complete in approximately three years.

In Pingzhen, the first phase of construction has commenced for Pingzhen Elementary School to alleviate classroom shortages in the Nanshi rezoned area. This phase involves a 950 million TWD investment to build a four-story primary school building, a kindergarten, and a public childcare center on a 3.2-hectare site. The project aims to provide 24 classrooms and various specialized learning spaces, including a library and performing arts hall, while integrating the campus with the local community.
