Taoyuan police dismantle drug factory using household appliances

Police in Taoyuan have dismantled a drug manufacturing operation located in a rented suburban house. The group utilized modified household appliances, including microwaves, washing machines, and juicers, to create a semi-automated production line for processing and packaging drugs.

During the raid conducted on May 6, authorities seized 1,037 grams of α-pyrrolidinopentiophenone (a Class III narcotic), 595 finished “rainbow cigarettes,” 506 grams of rainbow cigarette tobacco, and various cannabis and etomidate vapes. The seized materials were estimated to be capable of producing an additional 6,000 rainbow cigarettes.

Law enforcement officials noted that the colorful packaging and scented nature of the rainbow cigarettes are designed to lower the vigilance of teenagers. The Bao San Police Force has transferred two suspects, identified by the surnames Chang and Li, for prosecution and continues to urge the public to report suspicious manufacturing activities.
