TAP Air Portugal celebrates 60 years in Brazil and plans network expansion

TAP Air Portugal marked six decades of operations linking Portugal and Brazil, noting that it carries over two million passengers annually on the trans‑Atlantic corridor. The airline now serves 15 Brazilian destinations, including recent additions such as Curitiba and São Luís do Maranhão, and aims to transport 2.1 million passengers between the two regions by 2026.

Chairman Carlos de Oliveira highlighted Brazil’s strategic importance, citing a near‑10 % passenger growth this year and a forthcoming partnership with a large international group that will reinforce the airline’s presence. CEO Luís Rodrigues reaffirmed the long‑term commitment, describing Brazil as a key market for TAP’s future development.
