Tar Molise Suspends Closure of Termoli Hospital’s Emodinamica Department

The Regional Administrative Court (Tar) of Molise issued a precautionary suspension that halts the planned shutdown of the Emodinamica unit at the San Timoteo hospital in Termoli. The closure had been scheduled under the 2026‑2028 regional health operating plan to take effect by 31 October.

The suspension follows a legal appeal filed by the Comune of Termoli, acting as lead plaintiff, together with 37 other municipalities—including Vasto—represented by attorneys Vincenzo Iacovino and Vincenzo Fiorini. The panel, chaired by President Orazio Ciliberti, had previously granted provisional relief in earlier cases concerning hospital reorganisations in Isernia and Agnone. The court’s order temporarily preserves the Adriatic‑border health service, addressing concerns about timely treatment for acute conditions, the concentration of cardiac services at the Cardarelli hospital in Campobasso, local road accessibility, and the role of San Timoteo as a border health facility between Abruzzo and Puglia.
