Taranto councilor demands transparency over Mediterranean Games hiring
Taranto city councilor Mirko Di Bello of the Italian Republican Party (PRI) has requested access to official documents regarding the hiring of ecological operators for the Mediterranean Games. The request seeks transparency concerning the selection process for 73 workers and 20 additional vehicles intended to temporarily bolster urban hygiene services provided by Kyma Ambiente.
The extraordinary plan involves approximately 800,000 euros in funding for a 20-day period. Di Bello is seeking specific details on candidate requirements, selection timelines, how the job opportunities were advertised, the application collection methods, and the criteria used to choose the operators.
Although the Municipality of Taranto instructed Kyma Ambiente to allow the consultation of documents, Di Bello reports that 23 days have passed since the formal request was filed without an appointment being scheduled to review the records. The councilor emphasized that transparency is paramount when dealing with public resources, public services, and employment opportunities.
