Taranto launches weekly technical board to prepare for Mediterranean Games

The city of Taranto has reinstated its operational technical table at Palazzo di Città, scheduling meetings on a weekly basis until the start of the Mediterranean Games. The committee, chaired by Vice‑Mayor Mattia Giorno, includes assessors Lucio Lonoce (Public Works) and Luana Riso (Heritage), Chief of Staff Maria Lucia Venneri, General Director Marco Lesto, Secretary‑General Eugenio De Carlo, and representatives from the mayor’s office, local police, heritage, economic development, urban planning, finance and the municipal companies Kyma Mobilità, Kyma Servizi and Kyma Ambiente. Discussions focus on road networks, urban decor, street maintenance and visitor‑accommodation services, aiming to monitor progress, resolve issues promptly and ensure coordinated action with the Prefecture and the Games’ Organising Committee. Officials stress that the Games represent a historic opportunity for the city’s growth and international visibility.
