Tarapacá joins National Reconstruction Table for storm recovery

The Tarapacá region has been formally included in the National Reconstruction Table, joining the Atacama and Coquimbo regions. This inclusion follows parliamentary negotiations aimed at addressing structural damage caused by severe storms in August.

This designation allows the region to participate in high-level meetings with the Ministries of Finance and Economy. It also provides access to technical assistance and financial backing from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). The primary objectives are to quantify material damages and design investment plans for public works, road connectivity, and housing in areas such as Iquique, Alto Hospicio, and the Tamarugal communes.
