Tarcísio de Freitas addresses PCC transport probe and STF crisis

São Paulo Governor Tarcísio de Freitas has addressed several high-profile issues, including the ongoing investigation into the infiltration of the PCC criminal faction within the state's public transport sector. This investigation, known as Operation Vectura Corrupta, has led to the temporary arrest of former city councilman Milton Leite. Leite, who was a former president of the São Paulo City Council, surrendered to police in Mogi das Cruzes after being declared a fugitive. Leite maintains his innocence, stating his relationship with the transport sector was purely institutional.

Separately, Governor de Freitas criticized the Supreme Federal Court (STF), describing it as being in an unprecedented crisis and divided into groups seeking self-protection. He argued that judicial members should be subject to investigation and accountability.

In terms of infrastructure and administration, the state government is reviewing the ViaMobilidade contract due to what the Governor described as inacceptable operational failures. Additionally, de Freitas has been active in his reelection campaign, participating in various events across the Greater São Paulo region and addressing political competition from opponents like Fernando Haddad.
