Tarcísio de Freitas leads São Paulo reelection polls

Recent polling data indicates that the current Governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas, holds a significant lead in the race for reelection.

A Datafolha survey shows Tarcísio with 49% of the voting intentions, while Fernando Haddad follows with 29%. When considering only valid votes, the gap widens, with Tarcísio at 56% and Haddad at 32%. The survey suggests Tarcísio could potentially win in the first round, as he currently exceeds the 50% threshold of valid votes required to avoid a runoff.

Separately, a Veritá poll reports Tarcísio leading with 55.3% of valid votes, compared to 37.8% for Haddad. The Veritá study, which interviewed 3,025 voters in São Paulo, carries a margin of error of two percentage points.
