Tarcísio de Freitas secures support from 38 São Paulo metropolitan mayors

Governor Tarcísio de Freitas met with representatives from 38 of the 39 municipalities in the São Paulo Metropolitan Region to secure support for his reelection campaign. The meeting, held in the capital, aimed to coordinate strategies regarding regional challenges such as mobility, security, health, housing, and economic development.

As part of this political mobilization, Diogo Soares, the current Municipal Secretary of Housing for São Paulo, has been appointed to coordinate Tarcísio’s campaign activities within the metropolitan area. Soares is expected to step down from his municipal post on August 16, when electoral laws permit official street campaigning.

The strategy involves local mayors participating in campaign agendas and assisting with local mobilization and social media efforts. The meeting included the presence of São Paulo Mayor Ricardo Nunes and other political leaders, signaling a broad coalition of allies across the strategic region, which is home to approximately 22 million residents.
