Tarique Rahman pledges security for minorities in Bangladesh

Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has pledged to ensure the rights and security of all citizens, regardless of religious identity. During a meeting with Hindu community leaders, Rahman emphasized that the government is committed to protecting the rights of every citizen as a fundamental duty.

In preparation for the upcoming Durga Puja festival, Rahman also directed Members of Parliament to prioritize the security of minority communities. He issued a stern warning against extortion and land grabbing, stating that any party members or followers involved in such illegal activities that damage the party's image will face consequences.

To maintain communal harmony during the festival, police have implemented an extensive security apparatus across nearly 33,000 venues, utilizing specialized units, drones, and helicopters.
