Bangladesh political and energy crisis management

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has addressed various national challenges, focusing on political stability and systemic reforms.

Initially, Rahman warned against the spread of misinformation and attempts to incite anarchy during the country’s current crises, stating that legal action would be taken against those attempting to disrupt order. He also acknowledged the difficulties caused by electricity and fuel shortages, noting that the BNP is developing plans to address these energy issues.

Subsequently, the Prime Minister called for national unity and collaboration between the government and the private sector to drive prosperity through innovation. Regarding the energy crisis, Rahman stated his administration would not use inherited shortages as an excuse for inaction. He attributed the current gas and electricity problems to corruption and debt left by previous administrations, specifically citing issues with quick-rental power plants and domestic gas extraction in the Bay of Bengal.
