Tarja and Apocalyptica release new single ‘Tango’

Tarja Turunen and the Finnish cello metal group Apocalyptica have released a new single and music video titled ‘Tango’. The track is part of Tarja’s studio album, ‘Frisson Noir’, which is noted as her heaviest solo work to date.

The collaboration features a tango rhythm driven by Apocalyptica’s cellos, transitioning into a cinematic chorus with guitars and drums. Tarja described the collaboration as a dream come true due to her long-standing appreciation for the sound of the cello.

A limited edition 10-inch vinyl single of ‘Tango’ is scheduled for release on November 27, 2026, with only 500 copies available worldwide. This edition will include two previously unreleased recordings: ‘Tää Tango – Piano Demo’ and ‘Tää Tango – Band Demo’.
