Police dismantle methamphetamine lab in Tarn, France

French gendarmerie seized a clandestine methamphetamine production facility in the village of Fréjairolles, Tarn, near Albi. The raid on 11 June uncovered 28 kg of meth powder, liquid precursors, production equipment, a high‑end vehicle and encrypted phones. Investigators also recovered €38,396 in cash and cryptocurrency wallet keys, indicating use of digital assets for payments.

Five men, aged 30‑52, were placed under investigation; four were ordered into pre‑trial detention while the fifth remains under judicial control. They face charges of organized drug manufacturing, money‑laundering and association with criminals. The operation involved nearly a hundred police and gendarmerie officers, including the Bordeaux GIGN unit, the NRBC cell and forensic specialists. The case marks the first such seizure tackled by the Bordeaux specialized court and highlights the growing link between illicit drug networks and cryptocurrency transactions.
