TAROM introduces online wheelchair assistance for mobility-impaired passengers

TAROM has announced that passengers with reduced mobility can now request free wheelchair assistance online. This service can be requested during the initial ticket booking process or later through the reservation management section of the company’s website.

Commercial Director Isabela Leca stated that the initiative aims to provide passengers with more clarity and predictability, making travel easier to manage from the moment of booking. The airline offers two specific types of assistance based on the passenger's level of mobility:

- WCHR assistance: For passengers who can walk and climb stairs independently but have difficulty covering long distances. This includes wheelchair support within the terminal and to or from the aircraft. - WCHS assistance: For passengers who can reach their seat on the aircraft but cannot climb or descend stairs. This includes wheelchair support in the terminal and assistance with boarding or exiting the aircraft.

To ensure optimal organization, TAROM recommends that requests be submitted at least 48 hours before flight departure. Passengers requiring other types of special assistance or medical equipment are advised to contact the airline in advance.
