Tarragona selected to host 2027 Turespaña Convention

Tarragona has been chosen to host the VII Turespaña Convention in October 2027. The announcement was made by State Secretary for Tourism, Rosario Sánchez, during the closing of the sixth edition of the event in Zaragoza.

The convention is a major national gathering for the tourism sector, expected to bring together more than 500 professionals, institutional representatives, and companies over three days. The candidacy for Tarragona was presented jointly by the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Tarragona City Council, highlighting the city's UNESCO World Heritage status, its Roman legacy, and its capacity for professional event organization.

Catalonia will become the first Spanish territory to host the convention for a second time, following Barcelona's hosting of the 2022 edition. The event aims to promote the Catalan tourism strategy, “(+) Catalunya, millor turisme,” which focuses on sustainability, diversification, and seasonal de-concentration to increase economic and social value.
