Tarsila do Amaral immersive exhibition opens in São Paulo
To celebrate the 140th anniversary of the birth of Brazilian modernist painter Tarsila do Amaral, an immersive exhibition titled ‘O Brasil de Tarsila’ is opening at the Nubank Arte Lab in São Paulo.
Located in the Conjunto Nacional on Avenida Paulista, the exhibition features 14 environments and more than 70 reinterpreted works. Rather than displaying original paintings, the show utilizes 360-degree projections, digital animation, soundscapes, and even scents to create a sensory experience. Visitors can interact with iconic works such as ‘Abaporu’ and ‘Operários’ through three-dimensional installations and interactive elements.
The exhibition is curated by Juliana Miraldi and Paola do Amaral Montenegro, the artist's great-grandniece. It is scheduled to run until October 31.
