TASAC explores dry port expansion in Temeke Municipality

The Tanzania Shipping Agencies Corporation (TASAC) is investigating the expansion of dry port operations into the Temeke Municipal Council within Dar es Salaam. This initiative aims to strengthen the nation’s transportation and trade-related infrastructure and support the maritime sector.

To facilitate this, TASAC held a roundtable meeting with Temeke Municipal leadership, including Mayor Uzairu Athumani and Municipal Director Jomaary Satura, to discuss land allocation for these activities. The discussions focused on implementation arrangements and the necessity of involving local residents in the identified areas.

The proposed plan covers several wards, including Azimio, Buza, Sandari, Kilakala, Mtoni, Makangarawe, Temeke, Miburani, and Yombo Vituka. However, the areas of Tandika, Chang’ombe, and Kurasini are excluded from the plan, as they are already designated for commercial, industrial, and port-related purposes, respectively.
