Taschen to publish Lucas Museum of Narrative Art catalogue

Taschen has announced the publication of a two-volume catalogue for the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art. Developed in collaboration with George Lucas and the museum, the book traces the history of visual storytelling across various disciplines, including painting, illustration, photography, comics, and film.

The collection features works by artists such as Norman Rockwell, Frank Frazetta, Thomas Hart Benton, and Maxfield Parrish. A dedicated section of the book focuses on the cinematic universe of Star Wars, utilizing original production art, concept paintings, costumes, and vehicles. The publication includes texts by filmmakers George Lucas and Guillermo del Toro.

The book will be released in three formats: a ‘Classic’ edition consisting of two hardcover volumes in a slipcase, a single hardcover ‘45’ edition, and a miniature ‘Piccolo’ edition available exclusively through Lucas Museum retail outlets. The museum’s inaugural exhibit is scheduled to open on September 22, 2026.
