Tashkent hosts Media Forum 2026 at Center for Islamic Civilization

The Media Forum 2026 Uzbekistan was held from August 25 to 28 in Tashkent, hosted at the newly established Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan. The international conference focused on the theme “Center of Islamic Civilization: New Perspectives, New Discoveries.”

The event brought together approximately 300 international scientists and media representatives from 46 countries. Key discussion topics included Islamic cultural heritage, the application of artificial intelligence in journalism, documentary filmmaking, and the use of digital formats to communicate history and culture.

Participants from Central Asian nations highlighted the underrepresentation of Central Asian history in Western media, calling for more objective content regarding the Silk Road region. The forum resulted in nearly 20 memorandums of understanding and involved collaboration with global media outlets such as Euronews and the BBC to increase the international visibility of Uzbekistan’s heritage.
