Tasmac to increase monthly shop maintenance allowance in Tamil Nadu
Tasmac, the state-owned liquor retailer in Tamil Nadu, will increase the monthly maintenance allowance for its retail shops starting October 1. The new allocation replaces a previous petty cash provision of Rs 750 per outlet.
The amount will be tiered based on location: shops within municipal corporation limits will receive Rs 5,000, those in municipalities and town panchayats will receive Rs 4,000, and rural or village panchayat outlets will receive Rs 3,000. The funds are intended for cleanliness, hygiene, drinking water, and engaging sanitation workers, specifically to prevent the collection of an additional Rs 10 fee from customers per bottle.
According to a circular from Managing Director K. Nanthakumar, the funds cannot be used for rent, electricity, building repairs, or capital expenditures. Shop supervisors will receive the allowance with their salaries and are responsible for maintaining expenditure registers and preserving receipts for three years. If a shop is closed for an entire month, no allowance will be drawn for that period.
