Tasmania adds new bottle shop and winery cellar door near Launceston
Premix King, a family‑owned Australian bottle‑shop franchise, has applied to the City of Launceston to open its second Tasmanian store in Kings Meadows. The outlet will occupy half of the former Salvos building on Hobart Road, becoming the suburb’s fourth liquor store and operating seven days a week with proposed hours of 9 am‑9 pm on weekdays and Saturdays and 10 am‑9 pm on Sundays and public holidays.
Separately, Tamar Ridge and PIRIE have opened a newly refurbished cellar door in the Tamar Valley, about 20 minutes north of Launceston. The venue features a contemporary tasting space with a double‑sided fireplace, panoramic views of the Tamar River, bespoke glassware and a range of guided wine experiences, and is open daily from 10 am to 5 pm.
