Taste Atlas releases global bread popularity rankings

The food portal Taste Atlas has released a ranking of the world's breads based on user reviews. The survey included 11,539 legitimate votes, with the platform filtering out bot activity and reviews deemed to be driven by nationalism or local patriotism. To ensure accuracy, votes from users identified as knowledgeable were given higher weight.

Among the lower-ranked items are Fastenwähe from Switzerland, Gai mei bao and Hua juan from China, and Mogolla from Colombia. Other varieties appearing in the bottom 20 include the Bulkie Roll from the USA, Waterford Blaa from Ireland, and Krachel from Morocco. German breads did not appear in the top 20, though Pumpernickel from North Rhine-Westphalia was listed at 22nd place.

The authors of the ranking stated that the list is not intended to be a final judgment on food, but rather a tool to highlight excellent local dishes, foster pride in traditional recipes, and encourage curiosity about unfamiliar foods.
