Tata Motors launches Sierra EV in India

Tata Motors officially unveiled the new Tata Sierra EV on June 30, 2026, reviving the iconic Sierra nameplate as a fully electric midsize SUV. The vehicle is priced from ₹18.79 lakh (ex‑showroom) and bookings opened at the launch, with first deliveries slated for July 15, 2026.

The Sierra EV is built on Tata’s Acti.ev+ platform and is offered with 63 kWh and 75 kWh battery packs. Tata claims an ARAI‑certified MIDC range of up to 665 km for the larger pack (real‑world range expected around 510‑530 km). Both rear‑wheel‑drive (RWD) and quad‑wheel‑drive (QWD‑AWD) versions are available; the top AWD model delivers 0–100 km/h in 5.8 seconds with a Boost‑mode activation. Fast‑charging via a 120 kW DC charger adds roughly 263 km of range in 15 minutes, while a 20–80 % charge takes about 26 minutes. Tata also provides a lifetime warranty on the high‑voltage battery.

Inside, the Sierra EV features a premium triple‑screen cockpit (10.25‑inch digital instrument cluster, 12.3‑inch infotainment touchscreen and a 12.3‑inch passenger display), a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, a 12‑speaker JBL Black audio system with Dolby Atmos, and a head‑up display. Safety equipment includes Level‑2 ADAS, six airbags, a 540‑degree surround‑view camera and six terrain modes. Additional tech such as Vehicle‑to‑Load/V2V charging, wireless phone charging and Tata’s iRA.ev connected‑car platform round out the offering.
