Tata Motors reports record sales growth and strong FY26 results, targets IVECO purchase

Tata Motors Ltd announced a 35 % increase in commercial vehicle sales in June, delivering 40,805 units—up from 30,238 a year earlier. For the June quarter of FY27, total sales reached 1,08,488 units, with domestic volumes up 26 % and international shipments jumping 83 % year‑on‑year.

The company also posted its best‑ever financial performance for FY25‑26, posting revenue of ₹83,855 crore (9.8 % growth), EBITDA margin of 12.3 % and a return on capital employed of 72.3 %. Domestic commercial vehicle sales hit 435,000 units, while the heavy‑truck segment captured a 55 % market share. Digital initiatives expanded, with the Fleet Edge platform crossing one million connected vehicles and the electric‑bus fleet reaching 3,800 units across ten Indian cities. Tata Motors said it will pursue the proposed acquisition of IVECO Group to strengthen its global commercial‑vehicle presence.
