Tata Motors secures 3,400+ electric commercial vehicle orders in India

Tata Motors announced that it has received more than 3,400 orders for electric commercial vehicles (eCVs) across freight, logistics and passenger‑transport segments in India. The order book includes roughly 2,000 small commercial vehicles and pick‑ups, about 900 trucks and around 500 buses. These vehicles are slated for deployment in e‑commerce, logistics, FMCG/FMD distribution, intra‑city mobility and heavy‑industry applications such as cement, steel, mining and airport‑tarmac operations.

The company said the volume signals a shift from pilot projects to large‑scale adoption, strengthening its position in the Indian eCV market and supporting the country's transition to zero‑emission mobility. Tata Motors highlighted its expanded portfolio – the Ace Pro EV, Ace EV and Intra EV for small vehicles, Ultra EV range, Prima EV 55T tractor and Prima EV 28T tipper for intermediate and heavy duty, and Starbus EV and Ultra EV buses for passenger service.

Tata already operates over 3,800 electric buses that have collectively covered more than 55 crore kilometres and more than 17,000 electric small commercial vehicles on Indian roads. The firm also notes an ecosystem of over 14 charge‑point partners, dedicated EV financing, fleet‑management services and uptime‑assurance programmes to facilitate further rollout.
