Škoda launches series production of Peaq electric SUV in Mladá Boleslav
Škoda Auto has begun series production of the Škoda Peaq, the brand’s largest and most advanced electric SUV, at its main plant in Mladá Boleslav, Czech Republic. The 7‑seat model, measuring 4.87 m in length, offers a claimed WLTP range of over 640 km thanks to the largest battery ever fitted to a Škoda EV – a 91 kWh gross (86 kWh net) pack, with a smaller 63 kWh option also available.
The Peaq is assembled on the same production line as the fully electric Enyaq and Elroq, as well as the combustion‑engine Octavia Combi, demonstrating the plant’s flexibility after extensive upgrades that added longer conveyor sections, a new manipulator for the third‑row seats and modernised body‑shop and paint facilities. CEO Klaus Zellmer called the start a “milestone” made possible by employee teamwork, while production manager Andreas Dick highlighted the line’s ability to adjust output quickly to market demand.
Customer interest has been strong, with almost 8,500 orders recorded by the end of July. The flexible manufacturing approach also leverages capacity at Škoda’s Kvasiny plant, freeing space in Mladá Boleslav and helping the company reach nearly 23 % electric‑vehicle share of total Škoda output in Czech factories during the first half of 2026.
