Tata Nexon global rollout and redesign

Overview

In July 2026 Tata Motors announced that its Nexon compact SUV will be rebadged as the Tata Osprey for the South African market, with a launch planned for the third quarter of 2026. The overhaul is expected to involve a new platform, structural changes, and a shift in power‑train options to meet upcoming BS7 emission standards, including the possible discontinuation of the 1.5 L diesel engine. This redesign, alongside the South African launch, reflects Tata’s broader strategy to adapt the Nexon for different regional markets and future regulatory requirements.
