Tata Power commissions 190.5 MW solar and battery project in Rajasthan

Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) has commissioned a 190.5 megawatt (MW) solar and dispatchable renewable energy project in Kalasar, Bikaner, Rajasthan. The facility includes a 115 megawatt-hour (MWh) advanced Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) designed to strengthen grid reliability.

Developed under SJVN's Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) Tranche-1, the project is part of a larger 460 MW contracted FDRE initiative. Unlike standard solar installations, this project combines renewable generation with energy storage to provide stable electricity during fluctuations in generation.

The electricity produced will be supplied to the Haryana Power Purchase Centre (HPPC), Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL), and Noida Power Company Limited (NPCL). To support grid stability, the project also utilizes technologies such as Harmonic Filter Bank and Static Var Generator systems.
