Tata Sierra EV and Nissan Tekton SUVs to launch in India from late June to early July

India’s automotive market is set to receive two new mid‑size SUVs within the next two weeks. Tata Motors will unveil its long‑awaited electric SUV, the Tata Sierra EV, on 30 June. Developed over six years and first shown at the 2020 India Mobility Auto Expo, the Sierra EV features a closed grille with the Tata logo, full‑width LED DRLs, 19‑inch dual‑tone alloy wheels and a suite of electric‑focused design cues.

Nissan will follow on 9 July with the Tekton, its first Indian‑market mid‑size SUV since the Kicks was discontinued. Dubbed a “baby Patrol,” the Tekton draws styling from Nissan’s flagship Patrol and includes split lighting elements, connected LED DRLs, a 10.1‑inch touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, Google Maps integration, premium upholstery, panoramic sunroof, wireless charger and dual‑zone climate control. Both models are positioned as sporty, feature‑rich alternatives for Indian buyers seeking modern design and advanced technology.
