Taulant Balla rejects calls for Edi Rama's resignation

Taulant Balla, head of the Socialist Party parliamentary group, has categorically rejected calls for Prime Minister Edi Rama to resign or for early elections in Albania. His statements come amid two weeks of ongoing student protests demanding Rama's removal from power.

Balla emphasized that the Prime Minister maintains the full support of the Socialist parliamentary group and the voters. While expressing openness to dialogue with students, Balla stated that the government requires a concrete list of issues to address and noted that dialogue would not be extended to those engaging in violence.

Comparing the situation to political developments in Serbia, Balla suggested that students should seek change through the democratic process and voting rather than through immediate resignations. He maintained that the Socialist Party will continue its mandate and pursue its established objectives.
