Tax Inspection Board identifies 354.2 billion lira tax base difference

The Tax Inspection Board (VDK) identified a total tax base difference and reduced loss amount of 354.2 billion lira during the first six months of the year. This figure represents an approximately 57 percent increase compared to the 225.5 billion lira recorded during the same period last year.

Tax inspections conducted by inspectors accounted for 265.2 billion lira of this difference, marking a 96.65 percent increase year-over-year. During this period, 33,455 taxpayers were examined, resulting in the preparation of 101,301 reports. The total amount of proposed taxes and penalties exceeded 186.6 billion lira.

Additionally, the board utilized the invitation to explanation mechanism, which allows taxpayers to clarify risky issues before direct inspections. This process resulted in a 35.4 billion lira increase in tax bases, with the actual increased tax amount reaching 3.05 billion lira, a 10.41 percent rise from the previous year.
