Azpeitia taxi driver murdered following deliberate vehicle collision

A 30-year-old taxi driver and former DJ was shot and killed on Tuesday evening in Azpeitia, Guipúzcoa. The incident occurred around 20:15 on Avenida Artzubia, near the Garmendipe football field.

According to witness reports and police investigations, the attack began when a grey Volkswagen Golf deliberately rammed the victim's black Mercedes taxi. After both drivers exited their vehicles, the assailant reportedly fired at least five shots at the taxi driver, one of which struck him in the head. Emergency services attempted to resuscitate the victim at the scene, but he was pronounced dead.

The Ertzaintza and local police have launched an intensive manhunt. Authorities have identified a suspect and located the vehicle used in the crime. Police have conducted searches of two properties in the Landeta neighborhood of Azpeitia, including a residence linked to the suspect, though no arrests have been confirmed as of the latest reports. The investigation is currently focusing on the victim's personal and professional circles to determine the motive behind the premeditated attack.
