Taylor Fresh Foods has issued a voluntary recall of various prepared food products containing jalapeños due to a potential Salmonella contamination. The recall includes items such as salsa, guacamole, pico de gallo, taco dip, and diced jalapeños, with ‘Best If Used By’ dates extending through August 16, 2026.

Health officials have linked the outbreak to fresh jalapeño peppers grown in Sinaloa, Mexico, and distributed by Coast Citrus Distributors. The investigation, involving the FDA and CDC, has identified a multistate outbreak that has sickened at least 345 people across 27 states, with at least 36 hospitalizations reported.

The affected products were distributed to major retailers, including Walmart, Target, Trader Joe’s, Kroger, and Whole Foods. In response to the findings, Taylor Fresh Foods stated it has ceased sourcing from the implicated producer in Sinaloa and will utilize alternative suppliers.
